Quality Enhancement

WALK has partnered with different leading organisations in relation to using and gaining recognised certification in the areas of excellence in the delivery of services.

The achievement of these awards confirm WALK as a first class, leading organisation in the community and voluntary sector that is firmly committed to the provision of high quality human services that respects and enhances peoples' skills in the workforce while remaining acutely aware of the importance of providing value for money to its customer and creating sustainable environments.

A review of the four year partnership was concluded in 2010. The Lead Assessor from the Council on Quality and Leadership said:

"The organisation had made progress on the expectations identified in the four-year partnership agreement...Staff were able to share many examples of how their social capital had benefited people supported and the ways service users were supported to build social capital".

Excellence Through People

Bronze Level achieved in 2009 and renewed again in 2011.

Upon granting this award to WALK, the Excellence Through People manager said:

"It is a great achievement to see this tool being utilised in the community and voluntary sector as there is already confirmed links between bottom-line business performance and the use of High Performance Work Systems in the workplace."
