Bernie is a very experienced in the area of finance with over 40 years' experience in the Financial Sector. As a passionate advocate for adults with intellectual disabilities, Bernie brings a unique blend of expertise and enthusiasm to WALK.

Professional Background

With a background in the highly regulated banking sector, Bernie has expertise in navigating the complexities of internal and external policy compliance. Bernie is familiar with multi stakeholder engagement, reporting and governance. She has held leadership roles at Bank of Ireland where she headed teams of skilled professionals. Bernie's strategic vision and commitment to accountability bring valuable contributions to our team.

Why They Serve

Bernie joined WALK because she believes in giving back to society. Her personal commitment to supporting WALK comes from experience with family members who rely on the fundamental supports that organizations such as WALK provide to some of the most vulnerable members of our society.

Personal Touch

Outside of the boardroom Bernie enjoys sports both on and off the field.  She’s a regular Shamrock Rovers supporter and takes part in her local Park Run. She's a qualified Tour Guide and volunteers her services to transition year students at her local Community College and St Patrick's Cathedral.
