WALK self-advocates meeting with the former housing minister. WALK Self-Advocates Niamh Keirnan and Michelle O’Rourke reached out to Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien to share their individual self-advocacy projects focused on housing. Their efforts aimed to raise awareness for UNCRPD Article 19 – Living Independently and Being Included in the Community, highlighting the importance of equal rights and accessibility in housing. They arranged a meeting at Leinster House with the Housing Minister to present their projects and further advocate for the rights of individuals with disabilities.
