Women with Disabilities 

The WALK Human Rights & Participation Practice Developer and Peer Rep Fiadhanit Canning hosted a Voter Registration Drop-in Session on Wednesday, February 14th at the Bridgecourt WALK Location.Fiadhnait also created a "How to Vote" social story, which was shared at all locations to assist with the voting process.

This session was part of a collaborative effort between the WALK Self-Advocacy Group and the National Women’s Council. Catherine, from the National Women’s Council, delivered a workshop to the self-advocacy group, discussing how we could work together to ensure the voices of women with disabilities are heard in political and public life.

Additionally, Catherine delivered a Voter Information Session in March, focusing on the upcoming referendum in the Green Kitchen, in partnership with Peer Rep Fiadhnait Canning.

This initiative highlighted the importance of participation in political processes, ensuring that everyone, including women with disabilities, had the tools and support they needed to make their voices heard.
