Wendy's Story

Hello, my name is Wendy Farmer, and I joined WALK in July 2016 as a Health Care Coordinator with a background in nursing. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of specialising in working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, which has been both deeply rewarding and meaningful.

I have a passion for healthcare and a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of those who need support the most. I have a strong commitment to improving the well-being of people we support, ensuring they receive the care, respect, and dignity they deserve.

In my role, I focus on in health improvements, health promotion and training. I also spend time working with staff teams and families to build skills, enhance understanding, and promote a collaborative approach to care. I love seeing the positive impact it has on everyone involved.

I’m deeply passionate about what I do because I believe that every person, regardless of ability, deserves access to quality healthcare and support that respects their unique needs and abilities. Being a part of this process in WALK helping to bridge gaps and create opportunities, is something that motivates me every day.
